Choose songs that contain the words pink or blue in their titles.Ĩ. Hand out lists of song lyrics without titles, asking guests to fill in the names of the songs. However, the winner won’t know they won until the baby is born.ħ. Have guests guess when the baby will arrive by selecting dates on a calendar. Pass out note cards on which guests can write one piece of “new mom” advice for the mom-to-be.Ħ. Print out cards with lines of emojis and ask guests to guess what they mean.ĥ. Create a fun baby game loosely based on the classic crowd-pleaser Pictionary. Everyone loves bingo, so why not a baby-themed version of the game?Ĥ. Give out printed lists of common baby gear products and have your guests guess how much each of them costs.ģ. You could hand out some measuring tapes, or put together a basket of various lengths of ribbon, or provide a spool of twine that guests could then cut to the length equal to the circumference they think the mom’s belly measures.Ģ. How big is the baby bump? Have guests make guesses about the mom’s belly circumference (after first getting permission from the expectant mother). In case you don’t know, the twins are one boy and one girl, and we all did end up evacuating Florida.1. Then we said that the twins could each have a box of their own to keep. One box was for notes for the mom and one box was for notes for the dad. We bought two of them and asked everyone to write notes of encouragement for the parents and put them inside. We found some boxes that looked like small treasure chests. We thought this would be fun for everyone to hear and the jar made a great keepsake for the couple. We also found a cute beach-looking jar and asked everyone to write name suggestions and place them inside. It was fun to let everyone take their guesses. I had everyone wear either a pink or blue or both lei around their necks right before the big reveal. At this point, we had found out there was a hurricane headed for us and everyone was pretty busy discussing whether to evacuate or not! Unfortunately, I don’t think I got any photos of the decor. We got beach ball garland to hang on the ceiling (you could make your own using these), and then we made a streamer wall with flower garlands for a photo backdrop. That made this part of the party pretty easy. Since we were staying at a condo in Florida, the condo was already decorated with a beach-theme. I’m so thankful everyone was willing to help when it came to food! I thought what we made turned out so cute! Everyone really enjoyed it. The best part is the couple can keep the canvas and hang it up in the nursery or somewhere else. So when they popped the blue balloon first, it made the second one, which was pink, even more exciting! Everyone was cheering and so excited! Hugs all around and dozens of photos. My sister-in-law and brother-in-law already have a little boy. The darts can put holes into the canvas, so just be aware of that. The people throwing the darts will have to be fairly close to the canvas. Carefully tape the tied ends of the balloons to the top of the blank canvas. Stick a funnel inside and pour the paint into the balloon. Then blow up a balloon - you want it to be pretty aired up. You can do two shades of blue/green, two shades of pink/red/purple, or one of each color. This thins out the paint a little so it will splash more on the canvas. Start by putting quite a bit of paint into a plastic cup. It was stressful! I was glad we practiced this at home beforehand so I knew exactly what to do. Plus, I then had to carry the canvas and balloons down the beach without letting them pop while I waited for everyone to get there. There was so much pressure to do it right and make sure I didn’t get any paint on me in the process. I was so nervous getting this all ready for the big party. One small easel for the canvas to stand on.Mama and Daddy each got to throw a dart and pop the balloon to reveal the color and therefore gender of each twin. We took a large canvas and taped two paint colored balloons to the top of it.
